F1 25 Is Getting A Paid Expansion In 2026, With A New F1 Game Coming In 2027

EA Sports has revealed that it will not release a brand new instalment in the F1 franchise next year, instead deciding to release a paid expansion for F1 25.
In place of a new game, the paid-for expansion will expand F1 25 to align it with the major changes coming to the sport next year, and will include new vehicles, sporting regulations, teams, and drivers. However, looking to 2027, the publisher confirmed that it will launch a brand new instalment in the F1 series.
Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director for Codemasters, commentded:
F1 25 has been an incredible success, fueled by the passion of fans and the energy of the sport. With Formula 1’s momentum on and off the track, now is the perfect time for us to look ahead and build for the future. We’re fully committed to the EA SPORTS F1 franchise. Our multi-year plan extends this year’s excitement with the 2026 expansion and reimagines the F1 experience for 2027 to deliver even more for players at every level around the world.
