NCSoft Wants To Bring Horizon Steel Frontiers To PS5, But It’s Not ‘Something We Can Decide On Our Own’

The executive producer behind Horizon Steel Frontiers, the upcoming MMORPG based in the same universe as Guerrilla Games‘ PlayStation-exclusive franchise, has said that it’s eager to get the game on a PlayStation console but made it clear the decision isn’t down to them.
Speaking with 4Gamer, Lee Song revealed that the “most common reaction” following the game’s reveal earlier this week was the lack of a PS5 version of the game. Song said that NCSoft has “no reason” not to bring Horizon Steel Frontiers to a Sony console, but has heavily implied that Sony is the reason behind the lack of a PS5 release.
“We would like to do it, but it is not something we can decide on our own, so we would like to proceed with discussions,” he commented.
At the time of the MMORPG’s announcement, Guerrilla Games had strongly hinted that it’s working on more Horizon titles, teasing there’s ‘more to come’ in regards to the franchise.

Guerrilla Games recently stated that it had always thought about multiplayer for the Horizon franchise, and according to Jason Schreier, the company’s next project is set to be a Horizon multiplayer title that is separate to NCSoft’s recently-announced offering.
