Terminator 2D: No Fate Has Difficulty Levels Named After Classic Terminator 2 Quotes, Including ‘Hasta La Vista’
Terminator 2D: No Fate developer Bitmap Bureau has revealed details on the game’s difficulty settings, which are fittingly named after iconic quotes from 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day, including Arnold Schwarzenegger’s classic ‘Hasta La Vista.’
The difficulty settings include Easy Money, No Problemo, Hasta La Vista, and Judgment Day. The latter is only unlocked after completing Mother of the Future Mode.
Most of the differences for the difficulty modes revolve around the placement of enemies and damage output, as well as the amount of continues you have and the time limit. For example, Easy Mode omits the time limit apart from one stage, and features unlimited continues. Meanwhile, some stages are more challenging due to additional features; for example, the Freeway Chase will see the size of your crosshair get smaller, while the Cyberdyne Factory increases the number of flame jets that shoot out of jet engines.

Your choice in difficulty will also result in differences in the game’s boss fights, including changes to attack patterns, tighter timing windows and more. At the end of the first Future War level, the player will have to battle a Centurion, a behemoth Hunter-Killer quadruped built by Skynet. Below, you can see that in harder difficulties, the Centurion’s ground-sweeping machine-gun attack moves faster, meaning quicker reactions are needed to avoid taking damage.
Terminator 2D: No Fate is due out on PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on October 31, 2025. The game takes the form of a side-scrolling action game with a brilliant retro aesthetic, and sees Sarah Connor and T-800 battling against the T-1000 and attempting to stop Skynet from bringing about the fall of the human race. The action also transports you into the future as John Connor, as he leads the human resistance against the machines in a post-apocalyptic setting. Think Terminator 2, but as a 2D action romp!
