Some Xbox Game Pass Titles Are Now Playable Natively On Steam Deck
One of the big features Steam Deck owners have been requesting for years now is native Xbox Game Pass support, but it’s something that’s never been added to Steam – and the Xbox PC app isn’t officially supported on there either.
That’s not to say you’re totally out of luck though. One option is to stream Xbox Game Pass titles as part of the Xbox Cloud Gaming service, another is to dual-boot Windows on there, and a third more recently discovered option is to download PC Game Pass titles from other launchers such as Battle.net.
A Steam Deck user has been highlighting this on the system’s Reddit page today, pointing out that they’ve been playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 “flawlessly” by linking their Xbox account to Battle.net and downloading it from there.
A quick glance at the official Battle.net FAQ reveals that 15 Xbox / PC Game Pass titles are currently playable through Battle.net, and this includes some major releases such as Avowed, DOOM: The Dark Ages and Sea Of Thieves.
And apparently, it’s not just Battle.net that works this way. Other Steam Deck users have pointed out that you can play Xbox Game Pass titles from EA Play and Ubisoft+ through their respective launchers on the system as well.
So, there you go! Obviously this isn’t the optimal way to play Xbox Game Pass titles on a handheld, but it’s a fantastic option if you’re already a Steam Deck owner and you’re hoping to squeeze some extra juice out of your subscription.
We’d love to hear how you access your Game Pass titles on Valve’s device – let us know in the comments.
