What Is The Name Of The Next Xbox Console?

There is no official name for the next-gen Xbox console as things stand. These kinds of details are usually revealed much closer to launch, so we wouldn’t expect to learn of a name until perhaps around a year prior to its release.

You may have seen something floating around suggesting “Xbox Prime” is the name of the new Xbox console, but this is just an unverified rumour – and it could even be referring to a codename rather than an actual, final name.

What Has Xbox Said About A New Console So Far?

On June 17th of 2025, Xbox announced its next-gen console strategy in partnership with AMD, highlighting a next-generation hardware lineup that will include consoles, PC, handheld, cloud and accessories.

As part of this, it was mentioned that the next Xbox console(s) will deliver “the next generation of graphics innovation” featuring “a deeper level of visual quality” along with “immersive gameplay and player experiences enhanced with the power of AI”. Backwards compatibility was confirmed for the next Xbox console in the process as well.
