How many Mario Kart World characters are there?
We don’t know the final tally of characters, but there are currently 50 playable Mario Kart World characters confirmed to be coming at launch. There will almost certainly be more in the base game, and we’re likely to see DLC as the game progresses that adds other characters, perhaps bringing back Link, Inklings, and Isabelle from Animal Crossing.
Are there any Mario Kart World characters coming as part of DLC?
Nothing is confirmed yet, seeing as the game isn’t releasing until June, but there’s every chance that Mario Kart World will get DLC in the future. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass adds a total of eight characters and 48 courses through six waves of DLC. Mario Kart 8 on Wii U got two packs of DLC, both of which added characters, tracks, and vehicles, as well – so it’s highly likely that World will get the same treatment.
