Death Stranding Movie Finds Its Director In A Quiet Place: Day One’s Michael Sarnoski
Deadline has reported that Michael Sarnoski is set to helm the movie adaptation of Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding.
Sarnoski, who directed A Quiet Place: Day One, is set to provide the script and direct the Death Stranding movie, which is being produced by A24, Kojima Productions, Lars Knudsen and Square Peg. Kojima himself previously said that he selected A24 to partner with as it allows him to “make a slightly different kind of film.”

Obviously the project is still in the early stages of development at this point, so there’s no casting announced or script. However, it will presumably stick to the plot of the game, which involves the mysterious Death Stranding, a series of catastrophic events that blurs the lines between the world of the living and the daed.
Looking ahead, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is scheduled for release on PS5 on June 26, 2025, with preorders now open.
