Splitgate 2’s Open Alpha Test Is Available Now Until This Sunday
Splitgate 2 is out on PS5 right now – at least in its open alpha state – and it’s only available for this weekend. Developer 1047 Games is running this alpha test to stress test its servers with full cross-play functionality for the first time, beginning today, Thursday, February 27, 2025, and ending this coming Sunday, March 2, 2025.
So if you’ve been looking forward to getting into Splitgate 2, and didn’t make it into the closed test it previously did, then this is your first chance at really getting to try it out ahead of the games launch.
Speaking of its launch, we still don’t know when that’ll be, but it’s still set to be sometime in 2025. Hopefully after this alpha weekend, 1047 Games will be able to speak more concretely as to when Splitgate 2 will actually be available.
The first Splitgate was a small success when it first launched, and its portal-focused gameplay shook up the multiplayer FPS landscape enough for it to stand out. Splitgate 2 hopes to be a total evolution of what the first game began. It’ll be interesting to see the reaction from players, with anyone who wants to able to try it out for a few days.
