Xbox Series X|S Owners, How’s Your Storage Looking In 2025?

Another thing that we always do in these articles is question whether you’re using any form of external storage, whether that’s in the form of an official Expansion Card or perhaps something cheaper like an external hard drive.

To be honest though, the figures don’t seem to change much from year-to-year on this. Around 25-30% of Pure Xbox voters who own an Xbox Series X had bought an Expansion Card by March of last year, and the same goes for Xbox Series S owners. Something that also remains constant is that Xbox owners believe Expansion Cards are too expensive, with 34% of Series X owners and 41% of Series S owners telling us that in last year’s poll.

It’ll be interesting to see if anything’s changed as we go into 2025, perhaps in terms of how many people have decided to pick up some external storage, as well how difficult it’s become to stay under that 100% mark. Maybe you’ve found yourself deleting a lot more games than you used to, simply because there’s no other easy alternative?
