Niantic has partnered with McDonald’s US to add PokéStops and Gyms in Pokémon GO at all 13,500 restaurant locations nationwide.

Trainers can visit these spots during Scheduled Raid Weeks to encounter Pokémon drawn by Lure Modules and take part in five-star raids at McDonald’s Gyms.

The events will run daily from 6pm to 7pm local time from December 16th to December 22nd, 2024; January 20th to January 26th 2025; February 10th to February 16th 2025; and March 10th to March 16th 2025.

Sponsored locations have previously proven to be a lucrative revenue stream for Pokémon GO, though terms of the latest deal have not been disclosed.

A month of events

“McDonalď’s supersized their support of this partnership, including one of the coolest things ever as a long time New Yorker, a billboard over their Times Square restaurant!,” said Pokémon Go head of business development Sarah Gilarsky in a LinkedIn post.

“It was a pleasure to partner with the McDonald’s team who made every effort to put brand fit, trainer experience, and guest experience first.”

Elsewhere, the Pokémon Go Community Day monthly event featuring a specific Pokémon with increased spawns and bonuses is set to take place on Saturday December 21st and Sunday December 22nd, from 2pm to 5pm GMT. More details can be found here.
