Dress-up adventure RPG Infinity Nikki has generated $4 million in gross revenue ($2.8m net) on the App Store and Google Play during its first four days.

Most mobile player spending has come from China, which has contributed 77% of mobile revenue so far, or almost $3.1 million, according to AppMagic estimates.

Infinity Nikki launched as the fifth entry in Infold Games’ 12-year-old series on December 5th, marking the franchise’s first cross-platform release. This means that its total earnings to date are likely higher, spread across mobile, PC and PS5.

It should also be noted that these estimates do not account for revenue from third-party Android stores, such as those available in China.

Nikki vs Nikki

The title generated almost $787,000 on mobile on launch day and hit its current peak of nearly $1.2 million on December 6th. Revenue has declined since, down to $963,000 on December 8th, bringing the current average spend to approximately $1 million per day.

While this was significantly behind other Chinese open-world RPGs like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail – which generated $27 million and $44.2 million respectively over their first four days – Infinity Nikki’s early figures have positioned it as the franchise’s most lucrative launch.

Many earlier Infold titles saw staggered releases across different regions. Love Nikki, for example, made just over $5,000 in its first four days internationally in 2017, excluding China.

Shining Nikki, meanwhile, first launched in China on August 6th, 2019 and generated $611,000 in its first four days. Its global release on July 5th, 2021 made almost $350,000 in four days, including any further spending in China.

While the available comparisons are somewhat muddied by their release schedules, both releases of Shining Nikki combined still made less than a quarter of Infinity Nikki’s earnings over their respective first four days.

Outside of the Nikki series, Infinity Nikki has outperformed other Infold releases like dating simulator Mr Love: Queen’s Choice in 2019, which generated $25,000 over the first four days of its international release.

More recently, January 2024’s Love and Deepspace exploded in popularity, combining dating simulator gameplay with a sci-fi world and earning $6.9 million in its first four days globally. This title has outperformed Infinity Nikki’s initial launch and has gone on to make more than $380 million to date.

Overall, the data shows that Infinity Nikki’s launch has been a strong one for Infold Games – second only to Love and Deepspace among its portfolio and significantly ahead of earlier Nikki titles. It should be noted, however, that those prior Nikki games went on to make hundreds of millions regardless.
