Is Palworld on Nintendo Switch?
Is Palworld Switch coming out? We hope so. Palworld continues to intrigue the gaming world, though it appears to be the videogame version of Marmite – some people love it while others hate it. The best way to describe Palworld is ‘Pokémon with guns,’ and you know what, we’re here for it. That’s why a Palworld Switch port would rock.
Palworld can scratch that itch pocket monster itch while we wait for the release of the new Pokémon game Pokémon Legends: Z-A, so if you have access to Palworld, it’s worth your time. It’s not just this game like Pokémon that we want to see on Switch, however. Check out our God of War Switch, Lies of P Switch, Resident Evil 4 Remake Switch, and Elden Ring Switch guides to see how likely we are to enjoy those TGA nominees on Nintendo’s console.
Here’s what we know about a Palworld Switch port.
Is Palworld on Nintendo Switch?
No, Palworld isn’t available on Nintendo Switch, and it seems pretty unlikely that it ever will be. Despite only being available on two platforms at launch, the game sold five million units in the first three days, reaching 1.5 million concurrent players on Steam, making it the third most-played game on Valve’s platform at the time. With all that in mind, it makes sense that the developer and Publisher, Pocket Pair, would want to tap into other player bases.
Will Palworld come to Nintendo Switch?
While it makes sense for the developer to want its game in front of as many players as possible, we can’t see Nintendo quite agreeing with putting the game on Switch. Why, you ask? Simple, ‘Pokémon with guns’ doesn’t exactly scream ‘Nintendo approved.’ Plus, as reported by our sister site, PCGamesN, Nintendo went on a copyright spree against Palworld modders using mods to bring actual Pokémon into Palworld. We looked at a particular Palworld Mod by ToastedShoes, who has since removed their video showing off the mod, stating on Twitter (X) that “Nintendo has come for me.”
In June 2024, during an interview with Game File (thanks, VGC), Palworld developer Takuro Mizobe claims that Palworld coming to Nintendo Switch might be difficult due to “technical reasons,” offering a potentially very different reason for the game’s absence from the platform.
What are the Palworld platforms?
Palworld is currently available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Mobile gamers don’t have much luck when it comes to Palworld either, as it appears as though the team has no plans to release the game on iOS and Android. Still, shocking things happen all the time with videogames, so should Palworld make an unexpected appearance on the small screen, we’ll be sure to let you know.
Our sister site, PCGamesN, happens to have a Palworld review if you want to know more about the game. They state that “Palworld has given the static formula of Pokémon a clear shake-up, both mechanically and ethically.” We imagine the questionable ethics come from being able to both shoot them and hold some of them out in front of you as a shield. Honestly, I get it, can’t say I’d respond too well to my supposed friend treating me like a human punching bag.
Is Palworld free-to-play?
No, Palworld is not a free-to-play game, as it costs $24.99/£24.99 to gain access to. However, if you have an active Xbox Game Pass subscription you can download the game to your library. Sadly, that doesn’t help for us humble Nintendo Switch users. However, we’ll keep our fingers crossed in hope that it appears on the eShop in the future.
Is Palworld an Xbox exclusive?
No, as Palworld is also available on PlayStation 5 and PC. While Nintendo plans to sue PocketPair for copyright infringement, the likely hood of a Palworld Switch port continues to dwindle away.
Anywho, PCGN can also help you get to grips with the world thanks to their Palworld carbon fiber, Palworld Leather, Palworld bosses, and Palworld base guides. If that’s not enough for you, our pals can tell you how Palworld cooking works, how to hatch Palworld eggs, and where to get Palworld milk. Also, check their full Palworld map for dungeon locations and our console Palworld admin commands. And for characters, here’s a list of all the Palworld Pals and Palworld bosses list.
With that, you know everything about a possible Palworld Switch release. If you want some Pokémon goodness, we can tell you all about Scyther’s evolution, Gloom’s evolution, and Misdreavus’ evolution. We can even tell you how to beat the various types through articles such as our dark Pokémon weakness, psychic Pokémon weakness, ice Pokémon weakness, and steel Pokémon weakness guides.
