Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero to add Castile and Walnut as DLC, plus more characters (UPDATES)
Publishers NIS America and Nippon Ichi Software have announced that Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero will launch for Switch worldwide on January 30th, 2025. A demo is planned for the title and will see release sometime in 2024. Today, some new details have been shared about what to expect in terms of DLC.
Nippon Ichi Software has confirmed that both Castile and Walnut will appear in Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero as DLC characters, but that’s not all. Fans can also expect to see characters from other Nippon Ichi Software games to pop up as DLC as well. While that’s certainly exciting news, Nippon Ichi stopped short of sharing what characters or games we can expect to see represented.
Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is a colorful RPG set in Ivoire, a world dotted with many diverse islands. The story follows the adventures of a young girl named Marona, who can communicate with Phantoms, the spirits of the dead. In battle, players utilize the “Confine” system to summon their Phantom allies by having them possess items on the map. Units can move around freely on the battlefield, and a high level of over-the-top customization options are available!
UPDATE: Nippon Ichi has shared more insight into the other characters from their franchises that will appear in Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero.
There will be six cameos in all, and they will pop up in the game’s “After Story.” This is a mode that has to be unlocked by clearing the main story. The characters include Laharl, Vavlatorez, and Pirilika from the Disgaea series, Prier from La Pucelle: Tactics, Cornet Espoir from Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, and Asagi.
UPDATE 2: Three trailers have been released for the cameo characters in Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero. You can check out Laharl from Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Valvatorez from Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten, and Pirilika from Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless in action below.
