Freedom Wars Remastered Brings Classic PS Vita Action-RPG To PS5 & PS4 In January 2025
PS Vita Action-RPG Freedom Wars is getting the remastered treatment for PS5, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch on January 10, 2025, Bandai Namco and Dimps have announced.
Freedom Wars Remastered features a wealth of improvements over the original handheld version, including 4K resolution, 60 FPS on PC and PlayStation formats, enhanced textures, and an overhauled weapon crating system. In addition, players can also enjoy new difficulty settings and enjoy an overall more responsible and fluid gameplay experience.

Set in a dystopian future where the world is ravaged by pollution and its natural resources depleted, Freedom Wars finds humanity surviving in prison complexes known as Panopticons. Those that are born into this hellscape are labelled Sinners, and players must attempt to gain freedom by volunteering for combat operations against other Panopticons for valuable resources.
The director of the original Freedom Wars, Takashi Tsukamoto, commented via the Japanese PlayStation Blog:
We’ve wanted to make a sequel ever since the game was released 10 years ago, but the opportunity never came up. This time, we were fortunate enough to have an opportunity, and with Bandai Namco Entertainment producing while we develop, and with it being the 10th anniversary, the timing was right to do something.
Freedom Wars Remastered is out on January 10, 2025 for PS5, PS4, PC, and Switch.
