The Control 2 Team “Is Working Full Steam Ahead,” Players Will “Have To Wait A While” For Any Update

Remedy Entertainment made a massive announcement for the studio on Thursday, revealing a new partnership with Annapurna Interactive where in return for the film and TV rights to Alan Wake and Control, Annapurna will provide 50% of the funds for Control 2’s development costs.

It’s a major deal, because it is the kind of thing that can help Remedy develop Control 2 on a schedule that allows them to create the best version of the game they can make, and it’s much needed support for Remedy in the sense that it is still recouping development costs from Alan Wake 2.

Regarding Control 2 however, we didn’t really get an update on the project – save for a few words from communications director Thomas Puha in the blog post announcing the partnership.

“The Control 2 development team is working full steam ahead on the game. We know you are eager for news on the game (and Condor!), but you are going to have to wait a while for that.”

Last we heard from Remedy, Control 2 was “getting ready for full production,” so perhaps that’s still the case but “full steam ahead” definitely sounds more like the team is actually in full-production now.

It’ll be interesting to see when we finally get some update on Control 2.
