Here’s our ZZZ tier list.
Keep in mind that, at this early point in ZZZ’s life, these ranks are purely based on our personal experience with the game’s pre-launch build. We’ll be sure to update the tiers as soon as we’ve had to chance to crunch the numbers and test characters more thoroughly.

Unranked Zenless Zone Zero characters
The following characters are ones we’ve seen in previous betas, but have yet to appear in the full launch. We’ll update this tier list with their ranks as soon as we get to test them out properly.
There are also a few characters that we’ve seen glimpses of but have yet to meet, including these vtuber-themed girlies and new members of both Section 6 and New Eridu Public Security. Of course, we’ll be sure to add them here as soon as we know more – but, in the meantime, keep an eye on our Zenless Zone Zero characters and Zenless Zone Zero banner guides to lean everything we know so far.
Can I perform a Zenless Zone Zero reroll?
In order to perform a Zenless Zone Zero, you need multiple email addresses, and as the standard S-rank pool is quite large, it may take quite a few attempts to get who you want. As for A-rank characters, you’re likely to get most of them by simply playing the game normally, and limited S-rank characters have a 50/50 pity system, so as long as you save your pulls you can get your desired S-rank characters without having to go through all the hassle of making multiple accounts.
It’s also a very time-consuming process, and, in our opinion, isn’t really worth the effort – especially considering you get 100 free pulls plus a free S-rank character of your choice near the beginning of the game.
However, if you’re set on it, here’s how to perform a Zenless Zone Zero reroll:
- Start the game and get to Inter-Knot level five to unlock the gacha system
- Keep playing and pulling on the standard banner until you’ve used up your discounted pulls. You can also pull on the active banner with
- If you don’t like your rolls, log out of your account
- Create a new account with a different email address
- Repeat these steps until you get the character you want
Who should I choose as for my free S-rank character?
On top of the standard pity system, after you’ve pulled on the standard banner a total of 300 times, you can also choose one free S-rank character from the standard pool of agents.
All of these characters are incredibly powerful in their own way. Additionally, roles are less important than in games like Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail (in short, you don’t need to worry about having a DPS, a healer, and a buffer on your squad – you can even go for a team of three attack specialty agents if you prefer). So really, what free S-rank character you should choose depends entirely in your personal preferences.
Therefore, my best advice to you (as someone who has played each of these characters a lot in the pre-release) is to try out each of the available agents via the character tutorial challenge and simply pick what character you enjoy the most.
While taking factions and elements into account can be useful for team building and activating additional abilities, this game is extremely action-heavy above all – so it’s super important that you enjoy the playstyle and kit of the characters you play!
If you still need a little extra help deciding, here are the all the free ZZZ S-rank characters you can choose from, along with a brief overview of their playstyle to help you decide:
- Zenless Zone Zero’s Nekomata – an incredibly fast and powerful physical attack agent who has one of the highest damage outputs in the game. Her gameplay revolves around dashing back and forth around the battlefield and attacking her enemies from behind, so she’s a great choice if you’re a fan of assassin-like characters
- Zenless Zone Zero’s Koleda – a fiery, hammer-wielding stun agent who specializes in dazing her enemies and inflicting them with burn. She has a unique kit that allows her to team up with the tanky bear Zenless Zone Zero’s Ben in order to launch powerful coordinated attacks. Playing with this duo is great if you favor a more defensive playstyle
- Zenless Zone Zero’s Soldier 11 – a strong fire attack agent with a unique kit that requires you to either use her skill or perfectly time her basic attack inputs in order to maximize her fire output. Her skills may look a little intimidating, but once you get into the rhythm of playing her, she’s great fun and can take down some very tough enemies with ease
- Zenless Zone Zero’s Lycaon – a stun specialty character with an ice-fueled kit that focuses on dazing and freezing enemies with long combos full of charged attacks. You can also charge his EX special attack, and if you hit it again at the right moment, you can reserve energy. He’s great at disabling enemies, especially if they’re weak to ice, which can make some really tough fights a breeze
- Zenless Zone Zero’s Grace – if you love fast-paced ranged combat, Grace is perfect for you. She’s an anomaly agent who deals electric damage, meaning her kit focuses on applying elemental debuffs and shocking her enemies to debuff them. She delivers most of her attacks through her powerful electric pistol, but she also tosses grenades that unleash a small electric AoE on impact. While she’s capable of close-quarters combat, she excels at a distance, and her kit allows you to strafe and flip around the field while still attacking and reloading her guns
- Zenless Zone Zero’s Rina – another ranged fighter who deals electric damage, Rina seems similar to Grace on paper, but has a completely different feel on the battlefield. She’s a support character that floats above the ground rather than running, has very high movement speed, and her dodges and dashes are extremely fluid and cover a greater distance than any other agent’s. In terms of combat, Rina feels most akin to a mage, as she sends out and controls two bangboo while also zapping enemies with electric attacks by simply waving her hand. Her quick attacks and electric fields also dish out damage over a wide AoE, making her great against waves of multiple enemies
How do I get more ZZZ characters?
As Zenless Zone Zero is a gacha game, the main way to obtain more characters, W-engines, and bangboo is by pulling them on a banner. There are a few different kinds of banners – the standard banner, full of characters and weapons, the limited character banner, where you can pull special S-tier characters for a limited time, and the bangboo banner, which… Well, it’s where you get your little bangboo friends.
We go into great detail about the different banners, currency, gacha rates, and pity system in our Zenless Zone Zero banner guide, so be sure to check that out to find out more.
That’s all we’ve got in our Zenless Zone Zero tier list for now, but be sure to check back later, as we add new information as soon as it drops. In the meantime, keep the Hoyo fun going with our Genshin Impact tier list, Genshin Impact codes, Honkai Star Rail tier list, and Honkai Star Rail codes.
