Obsidian Entertainment Job Listing Confirms It’s Working On A Cross-Platform RPG Powered By Unreal Engine 5
Fallout: New Vegas developer Obsidian Entertainment is reportedly working on a cross-platform RPG project, according to a new job listing for a Senior Environment Artist.
The description for the new job opening reveals that the candidate will aid in the creation of “aesthetically pleasing environments for a cross-platform RPG.” The term cross-platform suggests that the project may come to PlayStation, although it could simply mean PC and Xbox.
Fans will probably be hoping for a new Fallout: New Vegas title or another spin-off, especially after Lex Luddy, editor-in-chief at Startmenu, told Giant Bomb that there were “discussions about getting Obsidian on another Fallout game.” However, during the same conversation, she added that Obsidian was apparently reluctant to do so, and is looking to “back away” from large-scale projects.

Obsidian Entertainment was acquired by Microsoft in November 2018 and became part of Xbox Game Studios, where it worked on the likes of Grounded and Pentiment. The company’s current project is Avowed, which is slated for release on PC and Xbox formats in Q3/Q4 2024.
