Xbox Series X|S Owners, How’s Your Storage Looking In 2024?

We also ran some other polls about external storage last year that delivered some interesting results. The majority of Pure Xbox voters told us they were interested in buying a dedicated Expansion Card for their Xbox Series X or S, but at the time they were considered to be too expensive. Instead, it seems like a lot of people reverted to external harddrives (or SSDs) for storage, even though they can’t be used for actually playing optimised Xbox Series X|S games.

Things have changed since then, though. Seagate announced some permanent price cuts for a variety of Expansion Cards in May of 2023, and then Western Digital brought a couple of new options to the market later in the year. These are still expensive sources of external storage, but they’re at least not quite as expensive as they used to be.
