Helldivers 2 ‘Blowing Through Estimates,’ Says Arrowhead CEO
In what’s become one of the more positive news stories of the year, the recent release of Helldivers 2 is continuing to make noise within gaming circles, especially now with the confirmation that the game’s passed a significant sales milestone.
Speaking on X (formally known as Twitter) in response to comparisons with Palworld, Arrowhead Game Studios CEO and Helldivers 2 creator director Johan Pilestedt confirmed that the game is ‘’blowing through the estimates at least…” and that the game sales are ‘’around a million right now.”
It’s unclear, however, if the one million sales mention relates solely to Steam or if it’s a combined total with that of sales on PlayStation 5.
Either way, Sony’s decision to opt for a day-and-date release for Helldivers 2 on both PlayStation 5 and PC is certainly being vindicated, with the game featuring prominently within the sales charts on Steam alongside the news that it has hit a massive 24-peak of 155,926 concurrent users in the process.
