Whitethorn Games announce Lake and Botany Manor release dates
2024’s annual Whitethorn Winter Showcase is here and it’s given us some great news for Switch and mobile gamers. Don’t forget to watch the showcase here for even more information than we can pack into a news article!
Whitethorn Games prides itself on publishing inclusive, accessible, and generally easy games such as Apico, Wytchwood, and Calico – we’re big fans. Each year the publisher releases its own showcase with announcements for upcoming games, ports, and partnerships in the year ahead.
First and foremost, we have a Botany Manor release date! The blooming wonderful game comes to Switch on April 9, 2024. You can read our Botany Manor preview here to see what to expect from the plant-based puzzle game. It takes place in, as you might expect, a country manor and leads you on a journey to discover different plants and their uses.
Another fantastic game is coming to Nintendo Switch this year, and quite soon Lake releases on February 15, 2024. What is Lake? Well, it’s not a fishing game, but a mail-delivery-simulator. You’re Meredith, a 40-something who leaves behind city life for her hometown, to become the postlady in her father’s stead. It’s a delightfully wholesome game with a slice-of-life vibe.
One of Whitethorn’s best games – perhaps I’m biased, but it’s my favorite – is coming to Android and iOS. Wytchwood, a witchy, woodlandy, fairytale-inspired RPG, is available right now on Google Play and the App Store, for a very affordable $4.99. You can also pick it up on Switch if you’d prefer.
Speaking of mobile titles, Skate Fish is also coming to iOS and Android on March 28, 2024. As the name suggests, skateboarding and fishing come together in this game. That means you can customize not only a sick board but a sweet rod, too. If you reminisce about driving tiny skateboards around with your hand, then this might appeal to you as it has two-finger touch controls.
Well, I’m excited about all of this and can’t wait to try out more of Whitethorn’s indie games. As mobile games take off, why not take a look at our picks of the best gaming phones so you can play what you want, wherever you want.
