According to the LinkedIn profile for ex-Naughty Dog developer, Colin Freeman, The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered‘s No Return mode will include at least 12 stages for players to tackle,

The profile mentions the following details that explicitly references No Return:

Created, implemented, and tested AI dialogue regions in-engine across 12 different No Return rogue like level layouts in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Created, modified, and tested render regions in-engine by adjusting lighting levels to fit visual filter aesthetics throughout 135 tasks in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered story mode.

Tested and modified extraneous audio regions, and adjusted PAT tags on surfaces and object throughout 12 different No Return roguelike levels in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.

No Return is one of the new features available in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, and is a roguelike survival mode where players face off against enemies for as long as they can across randomised encounters. New characters will be playable in this mode too, each one feature their own unique gameplay traits.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is scheduled for release on January 19, 2024 for PS5.
