Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1 Confirmed To Run At ‘1080p/60 FPS Target’ On PS5
Konami has announced that the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1 will run at 1080p/60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, following reports earlier this week that the collection would be locked to 720p on current-generation formats.
While Sony and Microsoft’s latest home consoles won’t run the game at 4K resolution, the Nintendo Switch release of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection is limited to 1080p/30 FPS while docked and 720p/30 FPS in handheld mode. So, reports of 720p were not accurate; it only pertains to the Switch version when not docked.
Here’s the lowdown, via VGC:
- All platforms except Switch – 1080p / 60 frames per second target
- Switch (docked mode) – 1080p / 30 frames per second target
- Switch (handheld mode) – 720p / 30 frames per second target

Konami announced that Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1 is also coming to the PS4, and presumably the above resolution and frame rate also pertains to that version in regards to ‘all platforms except Switch.’ A release date for the PS4 edition has yet to be confirmed, however.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1 is pencilled in for release on October 24, 2023 for PS5, PC, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
