S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat (Ukrainian: Заклик Прип’яті, Russian: Зов Припяти) is a first-person shooter survival horror video game developed by Ukrainian video game developer GSC Game World for Microsoft Windows. It is the third game released in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series of computer games, following S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, with the game’s narrative and events following the former. It was first published in the CIS territories by GSC World Publishing on 2 October 2009, before later being released in North America and the rest of Europe on 2 February and 5 February respectively, published by Viva Media and bit Composer Games.
The game takes place in and around the city of Pripyat, Ukraine. The area is divided into three parts known as Zaton, Yanov, and the city of Pripyat itself. Each of these is a large playable area. The majority of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat’s gameplay focuses on a combination of both post apocalyptic horror, as well as tactical role-playing action, mostly revolving around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Exclusion Zone.
