Two More Free-To-Play Games Have Just Released On Xbox, Including One With ‘325M Players’
This week will soon kick into gear with lots of new Xbox releases on the horizon, but before we get there, we wanted to use this opportunity to highlight two “free” games that quietly appeared on the Xbox Store at the end of last week.
Of course, they’re marked down as “Free” on the Xbox Store but they’re free-to-play games – meaning there are microtransactions involved if you want to pay for in-game benefits. Still, perhaps they’re worth a try, especially in the case of War Robots which apparently has a whopping 325 million (!) players according to the press release we received.
“Already enjoyed by more than 325 million players worldwide, War Robots brings its signature gameplay, with tactical PvP battles and extensive robot customization to all Xbox players. The console version offers the same core gameplay experience that made the original mobile title a global success, while offering controls and performance tailored for console platforms.”
We’ve never ever come across this game before to be honest, but it’s clearly been a massive success on mobile devices and has since arrived on PC and PlayStation as well. The Steam version has a “Mixed” average based on over 12,000 user ratings, but the Xbox Store version is sitting on a disappointing 2.9/5 rating in the US as things stand.
Just to make things more confusing, there’s already a version of War Robots called “Frontiers” on the Xbox Store from 2025, but that version hasn’t achieved anywhere near the same success the main War Robots game.
Perhaps you might have some interest in the other one too – it’s called Incremental Epic Hero 2, and it’s a very old-school looking idle RPG that has a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam and some decent reviews on the Xbox Store too.
It’s probably not worth expecting too much from either of these, but they might be worth a download at least if you get bored! We’ll share some footage from each of them down below, along with a few extra details.
