God Of War Laufey Release Window Reportedly Targeting First Half Of 2027

Sony Santa Monica’s upcoming God of War Laufey has yet to attract an official release date, but respected insider NateTheHate has revealed that he’s heard the game is targeting a launch in the first half of 2027.
When asked about the game’s release window by a fan on X, Nate, who has a strong track record regarding a host of leaks in the video games industry, replied, “Last I heard the target was first half 2027. Could change but that was a hope at one point.” Of course, this should be taken with a pinch of salt as nothing official has been announced yet, but if it’s true, then we won’t be waiting too long for the new God of War game to arrive on the scene.
God of War Laufey was announced during Sony’s State of Play event earlier this month, and as previous rumours stated, will not feature Kratos as the main character. Instead, it features Faye, Kratos’ wife who was deceased at the start of God of War (2018) as she navigates the afterlife of the Gods, known as Everywhen, where she finds that the plans she put in place to protect her son Atreus, and Kratos are now at risk.
The game is set parallel to the events of God of War and God of War Ragnarok, with Faye sporting her own unique combat style that’s based on speed, which allows her to overwhelm even the most powerful of adversaries.
God of War Laufey is currently in development for PS5.
