📝 SUMMARY

This video provides a summary of the preview session of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, highlighting the game’s seamless Highwind airship navigation, the new FITS role system, Yuffie’s grappling hook traversal in Wutai, and the newly playable combat styles for Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind.

✒️ DESCRIPTION

Final Fantasy VII Revelation expands the boundaries of the remake project, taking Cloud and his companions deeper into a fractured world where fate is no longer set in stone. Following the reality-shattering events of the previous chapter, the party must navigate an increasingly chaotic world map filled with massive open zones, hidden secrets, and a deeper exploration of the Cetra’s ancient mysteries. As Sephiroth’s shadow looms larger than ever, the boundaries between different timelines begin to blur, forcing the heroes to uncover the ultimate truth behind the planet’s destiny.

đź’Ą GAMEPLAY FEATURES AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS

– Vertiginous Freedom & Highwind Skydiving: Having spent an hour with the demo at Gamescom 2026, taking the wheel of the Highwind feels genuinely astounding. You can freely fly across the world map and skydive straight out of the airship with a parachute down to regions like Mideel or Wutai without a single loading screen. It makes the world feel staggeringly immense, though the sheer density of map icons does leave us slightly concerned about potential content overload.

– Fully Playable Vincent & Cid Combat: Hands-down our favorite takeaway was getting to control Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind in active combat. Vincent’s ranged gunplay feels exceptionally smooth, and seamlessly shifting into his Galian Beast form adds an incredible level of dynamism that immediately stole the show. Cid channels snappy polearm attacks reminiscent of Sonon’s moveset, making the roster feel more diverse than ever.

– The FITS System (Function-Integrated Tactical Suitwear): The new FITS mechanic introduces sub-jobs like Warrior, Knight, Black Mage, and Summoner. Assigning jobs gives characters specialized abilities and alters their roles. In our hands-on time, summoner builds let us pull off insane mixups, though the system adds so much tactical depth that it can feel a bit overwhelming in a short demo.

– High-Mobility Traversal in Wutai: Playing as Yuffie through her homeland in Chapter 4 showcased brand new movement mechanics. Scaling vertical buildings with a grappling hook and sprinting across rooftops feels exceptionally fluid and fast-paced, completely removing the rigid traversal limitations of previous entries.

– Streamlined Mounts & World Hubs: Navigating high-speed open zones feels far less tedious thanks to unified Chocobo mechanics. Instead of taming different Chocobos for every single region, your mount abilities are consolidated into one companion, keeping exploration fast, seamless, and deeply rewarding.

– Next-Gen Visual Polish & Expressive NPCs: Running on PlayStation 5 Pro during our preview session, the game delivered staggering visual detail. NPC faces in settlements look far more expressive, atmospheric lighting in Wutai is gorgeous, and combat performance held rock-solid even during visually chaotic Synergy Attacks.
