AEW Rebel Heart Dynamite Results 9/9/26

It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means …

All Elite Wrestling returns tonight at 8/7c on TBS and HBO Max, as the special AEW Rebel Heart Dynamite show emanates from Akins Ford Arena in Athens, GA.

In Memory Of: “The Butcher” Andy Williams

The first thing we see is a special ‘In Memory Of’ graphic honoring the late AEW veteran “The Butcher” Andy Williams. Fans inside the arena live in Athena, GA. can be overheard chanting his name in the background as the tribute cold open fades out.

The special Rebel Heart tribute edition of AEW Dynamite kicks off live, with Excalibur mentioning AEWTogether.org/RebelHeart and I Am ALS. He is joined by the rest of the commentary team to run down the lineup for tonight’s show as the official match graphics flash across the screen.

The Waiting Room With Dr. Britt Baker, Rebel & Special Guests Persephone & Hikaru Shida

From there, we send things over to “The Waiting Room,” the old talk-show segment from AEW’s early days starring Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Rebel. Tonight’s guest of honor is in a wheelchair and struggling to speak, but looks to be having a blast judging on the ear-to-ear smile on her face.

Rebel introduces the host, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., who thanks “Reba” and says it is great to see her again. Baker then welcomes her first guest, new TBS Champion Persephone. Persephone talks about defeating Maya World and taking the TBS Championship from her at AEW All In.

Baker next introduces Hikaru Shida, noting that Shida famously broke her nose several years ago. Shida says she hates Maya even more now as the three discuss their upcoming trios match. Baker, Persephone and Shida leave together, while Rebel unsuccessfully tries to remind Baker to take her glove.

Swerve Strickland & The New Level (c) vs. The Conglomeration

From there, we head to ringside for tonight’s opening contest. The Conglomeration trio of Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly makes their entrance first. Once they settle inside the squared circle, the theme for Swerve Strickland hits and out he comes with Prince Nana.

They stop and wait. Their music dies down and the tune for The New Level duo of Kofi and Austin Creed hits. Out they come to join Swerve, and the three newly crowned AEW Trios Champions head to the ring together for our opening contest.

Fans chant “New Le-vel! New Le-vel!” in the same style that WWE fans would chant “New Day-rocks! New Day-rocks!” Kofi and Creed dance around a bit to the chants. The bell sounds to get things officially off-and-running in this opening title tilt.

Kicking things off for their respective teams at the onset are Orange Cassidy and Kofi. Kofi takes Cassidy down with a go-behind, but Cassidy rolls through and gains control of the arm. Kofi responds with a shoulder tackle off the ropes before Cassidy connects with a flying mare and gives him a thumbs-up.

Kofi shows respect as both men tag out. Kyle O’Reilly and Austin Creed enter the match and feel each other out. O’Reilly lands a series of leg kicks, but Creed catches one and trips him to the mat. Creed follows with a running shoulder tackle before tagging Kofi back in for some double-team offense.

Roderick Strong enters and goes after everyone. Strong uses Cassidy as a weapon against Kofi and Creed before delivering a fall-away slam that sends Cassidy crashing into Swerve Strickland. Creed becomes isolated as the challengers take turns connecting with clotheslines in the corner.

The action continues as we head to a commercial break. When the show returns, O’Reilly is in control and unloads on Creed with a series of kicks. Creed eventually begins fighting back, mounting a strong offensive comeback as the crowd rallies behind him.

Creed fights to his feet with a series of chops, but O’Reilly quickly responds. O’Reilly looks for a suplex, only for Creed to counter with one of his own as both men remain down. Creed crawls to his corner and tags Kofi Kingston, while Roderick Strong enters for the opposing team.

Strong knocks Orange Cassidy from the apron, but Cassidy responds with a dropkick. Kofi follows with an escalera for a two-count before connecting with a leg drop. Kofi sets up for Trouble in Paradise, but Strong counters with a backbreaker. Swerve Strickland tags in and blocks another backbreaker attempt from Strong.

Strong sends Swerve over the ropes, but Creed makes the blind tag. The champions deliver a triple-team combination that ends with Kofi connecting with a double stomp. Creed brings Swerve back into the ring and covers him for two. Cassidy and Kofi tag in as all six men enter the ring.

Cassidy catches Swerve with the Stundog Millionaire, but the champions respond by hitting Cassidy with a triple-team combination. The action eventually comes back to Swerve and Cassidy. Orange takes Swerve down, prompting Kofi and Creed to intervene.

They attempt a double suplex, but Cassidy counters with a double headlock while keeping his hands in his pockets. He delivers a series of kicks to Swerve before Kofi and Creed launch him toward their partner, only for Cassidy to take Swerve down with a head-scissors.

The champions quickly regain control and connect with Daybreak on Cassidy to score the pinfall and retain their titles. There is no time for the champions to celebrate, as The Demand make their way onto the stage and call for a rematch.

The two sides prepare to fight until “Hangman” Adam Page and Brodido come out to even the odds. The Demand and Lethal Twist retreat up the ramp, leaving the former and current champions to exchange a tense stare-down in the ring.

Backstage, Steve Borden says he has spent his entire life living in the shadow of his father, Sting. However, Borden sees an opportunity to begin forging his own path when he teams with Darby Allin against Mark Davis and Josh Alexander later tonight.

Backstage With The Don Callis Family

The show returns with Renee Paquette backstage. She introduces her guests at this time, The Don Callis Family duo of Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight. They laugh and admit together that Callis was right about them being a good team. Kazuchika Okada walks up at the end for an awkward moment with Fletcher.

Maya World, Hyan & Thunder Rosa vs. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., Persephone & Hikaru Shida

Back inside the arena we go, where Maya World and Hyan make their way out together. They stop at the top of the stage and their music dies down. Thunder Rosa’s tune hits and she joins them as they head to the ring. Their opponents come out next.

First out is Persephone. She stops and is joined by Hikaru Shida, who does the same as the familiar sounds of Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.’s theme hits. Out she comes and the three ladies head to the ring for our next match of the evening. Split-screen footage airs showing Tony Khan donating a check to ALS research before the show.

The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with women’s trios action. Baker and Rosa kick things off for their respective teams. Baker does the D.M.D. finger salute, and the crowd does it with her. Rosa advances on her, and she quickly runs over and tags out before anything happens.

In comes Persephone, who immediately goes to work on Rosa. Persephone catches Thunder Rosa and sends her into the corner, but Rosa avoids a shoulder charge and counters with a backslide for a near fall. Hyan tags in before quickly bringing Maya World into the match.

They isolate Persephone, with Hyan tagging back in and scoring a two-count. Hyan heads to the ropes, but Persephone catches her with a powerslam for a near fall. Hikaru Shida enters the match, but Hyan avoids a kick and sends her into the turnbuckle.

Maya tags in and connects with a moonsault for two. Shida quickly regains control and drives Maya into the corner. Maya knocks Baker away from the apron, only for Shida to blindside her as we head to a commercial break. When the show returns, Shida remains in control.

She takes out Hyan before sending Maya into the corner, where Baker and Persephone join the attack. Maya eventually reaches Rosa, who enters and unloads on Persephone and Shida until Baker attacks her from behind. Persephone grabs Rosa, but Shida nearly strikes her partner when Rosa breaks free.

Hyan tags in and connects with a crossbody on both women, but Baker breaks up the ensuing pin attempt. Baker tags in as Persephone and Shida hold Hyan in position for a suplex. Rosa returns to the ring, causing Persephone and Shida to spill to the floor.

Rebel then makes her way to ringside carrying Baker’s glove. Baker takes the glove but turns around into a roll-up from Hyan for a near fall. With the crowd chanting for Rebel, Baker regains control and applies the Lockjaw. Baker points toward Rebel as Hyan submits.

Very Touching Rebel Send-Off

Baker reunites with Rebel following the match, and the two head up the entrance ramp together. The back of the wheelchair says “Role Model.” They stop at the top of the ramp and the crowd is roaring and chanting for Rebel. Rebel breaks down in tears — bad. Britt Baker does, too. Very, very emotional stuff.

This leads into an even more emotional, tear-jerking video package airs highlighting Rebel’s battle with ALS and the Rebel Heart initiative. The commentary team previews more of tonight’s action and then the show heads into another commercial break.

AEW National Championship
Andrade El Idolo (c) vs. The Beast Mortos

When the show returns, a video package recaps Andrade El Idolo’s victory in the Casino Gauntlet Match at AEW All In. We then head back to ringside as Andrade makes his entrance for an AEW National Championship defense against The Beast Mortos.

Mortos charges at Andrade as soon as the bell rings, but the champion takes him to the mat. Mortos rolls to the floor, where Andrade wipes him out with a diving hurricanrana. Andrade briefly celebrates with fans at ringside before returning Mortos to the ring.

The Beast turns the tables by sending Andrade to the floor and following with a dive through the ropes as we head to a commercial break. The show returns and back inside the ring we see Andrade regain control. He sends Mortos into the corner.

The champion sets up for a running Meteora, but Mortos catches him and slams him to the mat. Andrade attempts to fight out of the corner, only for Mortos to connect with a lung-blower for a two-count. Andrade fights back and picks up a near fall of his own. He follows with Dia de los Muertos and the DM to secure the victory.

The Dogs Attack Andrade, Will Ospreay Makes The Save

Andrade El Idolo takes a microphone following his successful title defense. He gives credit to The Beast Mortos before declaring himself “the real Latino Man.” Before Andrade can continue, The Dogs hit the ring and attack him from behind.

Gabe Kidd taunts Andrade following his loss to the National Champion on Collision, but Will Ospreay runs out to make the save. The Dogs retreat and exchange words with Ospreay and Andrade from ringside. Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir then make their way through the crowd.

Moxley takes a chair away from Kidd before sitting beside the commentary team to watch the upcoming match. Kidd and Clark Connors head backstage with Andrade in pursuit as the AEW World Championship Eliminator Match gets underway.

AEW World Championship Eliminator
Will Ospreay (c) vs. David Finlay

David Finlay takes control early, driving Ospreay into the corner and unloading with strikes. The AEW World Champion turns things around and sends Finlay to the floor before wiping him out with a dive through the ropes.

Ospreay locks eyes with his All Out challenger, Jon Moxley, as Finlay remains down at ringside and the show heads to a commercial break. When the show returns, Ospreay connects with a springboard forearm from the corner. Finlay sends him toward the ropes, but Ospreay responds with an attack that earns him a two-count.

Finlay fires back with several forearm strikes before planting Ospreay with a backbreaker for a near fall. He looks for a shoulder powerbomb, but Ospreay escapes and connects with a crescent kick. Ospreay follows with a powerbomb for two.

The action moves to the apron, where Finlay catches Ospreay on the top rope and brings him back into the ring for another near fall. Finlay attempts a powerbomb, but Ospreay counters with a hurricanrana for two before connecting with the Oscutter for another close near fall.

Ospreay sets up for the Hidden Blade, but Finlay counters with a backslide. Finlay lifts Ospreay, who answers with the Stundog Millionaire before finishing him with the Styles Clash. Moxley acknowledges Ospreay’s victory from the commentary desk before leaving through the crowd with Shafir.

Winner: Will Ospreay

Are The Good, The Bad & The Ugly Done As A Trio?

“Hangman” Adam Page and Brodido discuss their involvement in the confrontation with The Demand earlier in the night and whether they remain in contention for the AEW World Trios Championships. Despite some disagreement over which member is “El Guapo,” the three agree that they are still united.

Darby Allin & Steven Borden Jr. vs. Mark Davis & Josh Alexander

Back inside the arena, Don Callis accompanies Mark Davis and Josh Alexander to the ring. Darby Allin and Steven Borden make their entrance next, and the bell sounds. Mark Davis and Darby Allin start the match before Steven Borden tags in.

The crowd chants for Borden as he takes Davis to the mat and works over the arm. Davis returns to his feet, but Borden applies a headlock before tagging Darby back into the match. Darby takes control with a headlock of his own until Davis shoves him away.

Darby knocks Josh Alexander off the apron before connecting with a springboard Coffin Drop on Davis. However, Alexander made a blind tag and catches Darby by surprise. The Don Callis Family begins isolating Darby as we head to a commercial break.

When the show returns, Mark Davis applies a Texas Cloverleaf to Darby Allin as a tribute to The Butcher before transitioning into a powerbomb. Davis taunts Steven Borden and tags Josh Alexander into the match. Alexander connects with a body slam before Davis tags back in and scores a two-count.

Davis misses a senton, giving Darby an opportunity to reach his corner, but he knocks Borden off the apron before tagging Alexander back in. Alexander drops Darby with a backbreaker. The Don Callis Family attempts a double-team maneuver, but Darby escapes two suplex attempts and finally makes the tag to Borden.

Borden enters with a clothesline to Davis before body slamming both opponents. He sends Davis to the floor and plants Alexander with a Samoan drop, followed by a leaping elbow drop for a near fall. Davis returns and drives Borden into the corner with a series of chops.

Borden fights back with a dropkick and attempts a super-plex, but Alexander intervenes and delivers a rack bomb. Darby breaks up the ensuing pin attempt just before the three-count. Alexander catches Darby with a German suplex, but Borden catches his partner.

He then uses him to connect with what the commentary team calls the “Scorpion Coffin Drop.” Darby then dives through the ropes onto Davis for the win. Darby and Borden celebrate and a video package then airs for the three-way Ladder Match scheduled for AEW All Out.

Women’s Division Chaos With Thekla, Mercedes Moné & Willow Nightingale

Thekla makes her way to the ring and calls for her “dumb bitches” in Atlanta. She says she does not need a championship to celebrate because the party follows her wherever she goes.

Thekla turns her attention to Mercedes Moné, saying that while others grew up as wrestling fans, she was performing in a punk band in Austria. She recalls witnessing a man being beaten in a basement before using a chicken to help fight off the attackers.

Thekla then says she hopes Moné’s championship still smells like “sex, drugs and rock and roll.” Mercedes Moné interrupts and introduces herself as “Big D Moné,” telling Thekla to ask Willow Nightingale what that tastes like.

Moné says she is not concerned about Thekla because she has dealt with bigger egos throughout her career and always emerged on top. Thekla says the two can at least agree that Willow is “the dumbest bitch in AEW history.”

Before she can continue, Willow’s music hits. Willow charges into the ring and goes directly after Thekla, who quickly retreats. Skye Blue and Julia Hart join Thekla on the entrance ramp as the two sides exchange words from a distance. We head to another break.

Backstage With The Death Riders & Will Ospreay

When the show returns, we shoot backstage, where PAC questions Jon Moxley’s decision to trust Will Ospreay, arguing that Ospreay was never truly a member of the Death Riders.

Daniel Garcia defends Ospreay and says the AEW World Champion has always treated him well. Gabe Kidd criticizes Garcia before reminding the group that the Death Riders left Ospreay hospitalized with a broken neck one year ago.

Ospreay then enters and confronts Moxley. He asks whether Moxley will bring the Death Riders to their AEW World Championship match at All Out or face him alone in a 60-minute contest.

Ospreay acknowledges that Moxley is the only man to pin him this year but says he has a plan for their title match. After Ospreay leaves, an angered Moxley kicks away his chair and begins pacing around the room while PAC watches him closely.

Tables Match
The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson) vs. The Don Callis Family (Kyle Fletcher & Kevin Knight)

It’s main event time!

The Young Bucks attack Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher as soon as the bell rings. They send Knight to the floor and connect with a double-team maneuver before returning both opponents to the ring.

Matt and Nick Jackson attempt to suplex Knight and Fletcher through a table at ringside, but their opponents reverse the move and send the Bucks back into the ring.

Matt sends Fletcher crashing into Knight, allowing the Bucks to follow with another double-team combination that ends with a stomp to Knight. Matt and Nick then climb the turnbuckles and wipe out Knight and Fletcher with simultaneous crossbody blocks.

The Bucks bring another table into the ring and position it in the corner. Matt attempts to drive Knight through it with a series of Northern Lights suplexes, but Fletcher makes the save.

Knight and Fletcher attempt a double-team suplex until Nick comes to Matt’s aid. They catch Matt coming through the ropes but powerbomb him onto the ring apron instead of through the table.

Fletcher takes control of both Bucks at ringside before Knight launches himself over the ropes and wipes them out. The action continues as we head to a commercial break.

When the show returns, we see the action in our main event of the evening still in progress. Matt Jackson connects with Sliced Bread and a DDT on Kyle Fletcher. Kevin Knight enters but is quickly fought off by both Young Bucks

The Bucks retrieve a table from the corner. Fletcher attempts to intervene but is driven face-first into the canvas before the Bucks position him across the ropes. They connect with the M-M-M-Bop Drop, sending Fletcher onto the table, but it does not break.

Matt and Nick attempt a TK Driver from the apron, but Knight sends Matt off the turnbuckle with a hurricanrana. Fletcher then sets Nick up for a tombstone, only for Matt to counter Knight with another hurricanrana. Matt follows by suplexing Fletcher onto the edge of the ring.

Back inside, Knight attempts to fight back but is caught with the TK Driver. Fletcher reenters and absorbs a BTE Trigger as the Bucks remain in control. Knight gets back to his feet on the apron, where Matt attempts a sunset-flip powerbomb.

Nick adds a superkick, allowing Matt to drive Knight through a table for the first elimination. Kevin Knight has been eliminated. Fletcher immediately responds by sending Nick through a table on the opposite side of the ring.

Nick Jackson has been eliminated. The match comes down to Fletcher and Matt. Fletcher connects with a brainbuster and sets up a table in the center of the ring, but Matt slides underneath and drives him onto it. Matt follows with a superkick that leaves Fletcher lying across the table.

Matt heads to the top rope, but FTR run out and interfere. Matt initially fights them off, only for Stokely Hathaway to grab him. The distraction allows Fletcher to hit a superplex that drives Matt through the table for the final elimination.

Winners: The Don Callis Family (Kyle Fletcher & Kevin Knight)

All Hell Breaks Loose To End The Show

FTR join Fletcher and the Don Callis Family in attacking the Young Bucks after the match. Darby Allin and Steven Borden run out carrying steel chairs and force the attackers to retreat.

Darby and Borden then help the Bucks to their feet. The four men shake hands in the ring. That’s how the special “Rebel Heart” edition of AEW Dynamite wraps up. Thanks for joining us!
