The Blood Of Dawnwalker Adds Much-Requested 60FPS Performance Mode For Xbox Series X

Last week, upcoming action RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker received quite a lot of negative attention when it was revealed at the game only had 30FPS and 40FPS modes to choose from on Xbox Series X and PS5, but the developer has also now confirmed that a third Performance Mode will be available with 60FPS gameplay at launch.

The team says it was “clear how much this mattered” to fans and they’d been working on a 60FPS option anyway, but they were still testing it and weren’t ready to show it off. The reaction to the news last week highlighted a need to prioritise those tests, and therefore they’ve committed to bringing 60FPS to the game via a day one patch.

Here’s their statement about it:

“The Blood of Dawnwalker will receive a Performance Mode targeting 60 FPS on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X on Day 1 through the launch patch. On Friday, we answered your questions about console performance with what we knew we could confidently deliver at launch. Performance Mode was already in the works, but it was still being tested. We simply weren’t ready to promise it yet. We heard your feedback. It was clear how much this mattered to many of you, so we focused on finishing the next round of tests. Those results gave us the confidence we needed to confirm Performance Mode for Day 1.”

A follow-up post also mentions that the Xbox Series S version of The Blood of Dawnwalker will run at 30FPS with no other alternatives, which to be honest isn’t a massive surprise here. Hopefully it’s a rock-solid 30FPS!

We’ll keep a lookout for the first raw gameplay footage of this title on Xbox consoles, as we reckon the results could be pretty interesting – especially now we’ve got three modes to analyse across the Xbox Series X and PS5 versions.
