Twitch has opened its sponsorship programme to Affiliates globally, giving more creators access to brand campaigns and sponsorship opportunities through the platform.
Previously, sponsorships were primarily available to Partners, aside from select campaigns. However, recent Minecraft campaigns demonstrated demand for Affiliate partnerships, with more than 50% of participating paid streamers being Affiliates.
Affiliates can now be included in select campaigns when they meet a brand’s criteria and manage campaigns through Twitch’s sponsorship dashboard.
To qualify, Affiliates must accept the sponsorship portal terms and complete Twitch’s creator sponsorship certification.
Wehype partnership
Twitch has also partnered with Wehype, a global creator marketing platform focused on sponsorships, to surface additional campaign opportunities directly in the sponsorship dashboard.
As part of the partnership, an EA sponsorship for Battlefield is already available through Wehype this week. Creators can discover campaigns through Twitch, join them, access campaign briefs and receive payment through the Wehype platform.
Wehype said the integration builds on its work with Twitch, which began ten years ago through its integration with the Twitch API.
Twitch is also expanding creator profile tools, allowing partners and Affiliates to provide brands with information about their channels and sponsorship interests. Creators can now feature selected clips in Sponsorship Highlights to showcase sponsored content.
The streaming platform said completing creator sponsorship certification can help creators stand out to brands, while Affiliates are required to complete the certification to qualify for sponsorship opportunities.
