Big Main Event For WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event In Atlanta

Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes are officially set to go one-on-one at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced on social media Saturday that Orton vs. Rhodes has been made official for the September 6 event at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

The match comes after Orton attacked Rhodes following his victory at WWE SummerSlam earlier this month.

“I’m pleased to announce that I have followed through on the promise I made to Cody last night on SmackDown when I told him I would do everything I could to make it happen,” Aldis stated in the video. “I am here today to tell you that I have made it happen.”

Aldis continued, “Sunday, September the 6th, Sunday Night’s Main Event, State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, Cody Rhodes gets his chance at revenge when he goes one-on-one with Randy Orton.”

Orton delivered an RKO to Rhodes following Rhodes’ match at SummerSlam, setting the stage for the two former allies to eventually meet in the ring.

WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event takes place on September 6 from State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
