WWE Trademarks Pat McAfee-Inspired Name For Veteran Wrestler
WWE has filed to trademark an interesting new name that could be connected to The Miz.
On August 7, WWE filed an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to trademark the name “The Mike.”
The filing was made on an “intent to use” basis, meaning WWE is not claiming prior use of the name. The listed purposes specifically cover professional wrestling and entertainment services, with merchandise not included in the application.
The timing of the filing appears to be connected to a running bit involving The Miz and Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski.
Misiorowski has also been given “The Miz” nickname, leading to some playful debate over who should have the rights to the moniker.
That continued during the August 7 episode of The Pat McAfee Show, where Misiorowski and The Miz both appeared to debate who should get to use the nickname.
The Miz and Pat McAfee had some more fun with the name gag in a recent brief social media back-and-forth, which you can check out via the X posts embedded below.
