‘It Would Make Folks Happy’ – Larian Exec On Why Baldur’s Gate 3 Now Supports Xbox Play Anywhere

There’s still plenty for Microsoft to iron out when it comes to the Xbox and Windows ecosystems. I’m sure you’ve noticed older titles with separate Xbox console and Windows versions that don’t support XPA. Whilst it’s tough to predict whether Microsoft plans to retrofit those games into its increasingly unified ecosystem, it does look a bit better for many upcoming launches.

Major releases such as 007: First Light, Dispatch, Hades II, and Subnautica 2 are all embracing Xbox Play Anywhere, showcasing how valuable the feature can be. But where does it go from here? XPA certainly seems to be gaining momentum, with more and more games hopping on board, but it remains to be seen how important Asha Sharma views Xbox Play Anywhere as part of the ongoing Xbox reset, and console push.

One thing’s for certain – we’re big fans of it here at PX HQ, and here’s hoping more major releases follow Larian’s lead by continuing to support the feature going forward.
