Mortal Shell 2 Open Beta Is Seriously Impressing Fans On Xbox Series X|S Right Now

Now players have had time with the game, the general vibe is one of genuine hype and positivity, with some fans claiming series improvements are “night and day” when compared to its predecessor. There’s a bunch of five-star reviews on the game’s Xbox page, as well as boasting a ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam.
Here’s what some of the Mortal Shell II Open Beta reviews had to say:
5/5 Review on Xbox: “Fantastic game, it has really impressed me. Definitely a day 1 buy from me. Definitely check it out.”
5/5 Review on Xbox: “Elite second outing. Never liked the first, was jank, slow, and meh. What a turn around. Buttery smooth with weighted combat, peak audio and a polish most “souls-likes” couldn’t do. This is the beta, can only get better in full release. Would recommend a play!”
Mudkipz on Steam: “Really enjoyed this demo/open beta. I’m extremely excited for the full release. This game has been on my radar for quite some time, and I’m glad to see so many improvements over its predecessor.”
Almond on Steam: “The game isn’t overly difficult. I’d describe it as moderately challenging, and I really liked that. The difficulty never felt artificial most of my deaths were entirely my own fault, which made every victory feel satisfying. The combat feels incredibly fun, and one of my favourite design choices is the complete absence of stamina management. It keeps fights flowing naturally instead of constantly worrying about managing a stamina bar.”
As I mentioned, the Open Beta kicked off three days ago, but there’s no official end date. With the full game launching on August 20th, I’d wager your window to give it a whirl is running short.
