Five Xbox Games Are Shutting Down Their Servers In August 2026

If you recall this time last month, you may remember that we did a server shutdown guide for both July and August 2026, as July was actually very quiet for server closures in the end (just Madden NFL 23).

Now that we’re in August itself, we still wanted to give you a reminder of the games shutting down their servers over the next few weeks though, as well as add a couple of EA Sports titles that are closing at the end of the month.

Those two new additions are NHL 22 and NHL 23, both of which will become unplayable online after August 31st. To be fair, considering they were released in 2021 and 2022 respectively, they’ve lasted quite some time!

Here’s the full list of five Xbox games shutting down their servers in August as things stand:

We talked about Warface: Clutch last month as well – it’s a free-to-play shooter that’s well worth a try before it disappears on August 25th if you’re curious. The developer says the choice wasn’t “easy” to sunset the game, but clearly a necessary one.

You’ll find a new guide from us with September’s server closures in a few weeks’ time, but at the moment it looks like we’ve got HAWKED, GRID Legends and Sociable Soccer 25 on the chopping block, possibly with more to come.

Of course, this guide will be updated throughout August with any additions to the list of server shutdowns, so stay tuned for potentially more information in the weeks ahead. Fingers crossed these are the only five to worry about!
