Gears Of War: E-Day Continues To Look Incredible In New 60FPS Xbox Series X Footage

The highlight of the Xbox Games Showcase earlier in June was arguably Gears of War: E-Day, and the Xbox console exclusive appeared again today at State of Unreal 2026 with a tech demo highlighting the power of Unreal Engine.
You can watch this footage in full up above, which is confirmed to be running on Xbox Series X at 60 frames per-second. The Coalition’s Kate Rayner provides commentary on all the visual highlights (much of it centred around lighting), while also suggesting that the game pushes Unreal Engine 5 and “the hardware it runs on” to their limits.
Here’s what Kate had to say following the event’s conclusion:
That wasn’t all though! We also got a new Raven Extract cinematic today featuring the introduction of Specialist Daan Riggs, and you can check that out at the bottom of the article.
Gears of War: E-Day is officially set to launch on October 6th, and we reckon it’s going to be a must-play when it arrives in a few months’ time! Don’t forget about the open beta in August as well, which is available to anyone who pre-orders any edition of the game, and we’re hoping it might be extended to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members too.
Stay tuned for more Gears of War: E-Day coverage over the coming weeks.
