Call Of Duty Warzone Is Ending Support On PS4 & Xbox One Later This Year

Activision has revealed that it is shutting down the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Call of Duty Warzone later this year, and will coincide with the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4’s first season of content.

To that end, Call of Duty Warzone is going to be removed from the PlayStation Store from June 4, 2026 for PS4 and Xbox zOne, with in-game purchases also stopping at this point. Despite this, the game will still remain playable until the release of Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 and you can still unlock battle pass content. After the June 4 cutoff though, you will no longer be able to play the game on those platforms.

Activision revealed that Season 1 for Modern Warfare 4 will kick off “shortly” after October 23, which will begin “a major year of content and seasonal experiences,” and Warzone will of course form an integral part of this, with progression and content integrated from Modern Warfare 4.

Call of Duty Warzone was originally released for PS4, PC, and Xbox One in March 2020, and was connected to numerous core Call of Duty games including Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard. Its successor, Call of Duty Warzone 2.0, was release in 2022 for current and last-generation systems, and was integrated into the lies of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6, and Black Ops 7.
