Final Fantasy XIV 7.51 Ultimate Kefka Drops June 2 – But Who Will Defeat The Clown First?

With Final Fantasy XIV 7.51 patch dropping on June 2, 2026, a new ultimate raid will be making its way to Square Enix’s hit MMORP. As players will recall, we recently got a teaser for the upcoming Ultimate Raid as part of the game’s North American fanfest. Still, we don’t know much about it right now, due to the fact the team likes to have the community uncover the secrets of the fight themselves.

One thing we do know however is that we’ll be fighting Kefka from Final Fantasy VI. Players must complete the most recent Savage tier to unlock the new Ultimate; to access it, simply talk to the wandering minstrel. While the location hasn’t been confirmed yet, it will probably unlock from Solution Nine. This will be the second Ultimate that has dropped in Dawntrail. Lots of folk were expecting a different fight for the Ultimate, so Kefka’s reveal has been a major shock to some players.

We don’t know a huge amount about the upcoming fight – Square Enix typically likes to keep things under wraps – but I am hoping they somehow involve Zurvan, Sophia and Sephiroth in the base fight. The development team often have a hidden form for the final phase; we already saw God Kefka in the Savage version of the fight way back in Stormblood, but it would be interesting to see if we get some kind of new version of that or perhaps an entirely new form just for Final Fantasy XIV.

I am also looking forward to whatever the team has planned for the music during the fight. Regardless, we know from previous Ultimates that this fight will be incredibly challenging but more importantly, a lot of fun. For those who are not world-first raiders, there will be a new cosmic exploration location, which will also have the final step for the crafter/gatherer relic. The final step of the combat relic will drop later on in the year. In addition, there will be a new custom delivery in 7.51 for people who wish to do it. Overall, update 7.51 is looking like a great patch, and I can’t wait to see where the story will go with future patches of 7.5x.
