Chadley Will Return In Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, Confirms Naoki Hamaguchi

Speaking during an interview with Restart.Run, Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 director Naoki Hamaguchi has confirmed that Chadley, the materia researcher that players encountered in the trilogy’s first two instalments, will be back for the concluding chapter. That’s either good or bad news, depending on how you feel about Chadley.
While Hamaguhi-san confirmed that the character will be appearing in FFVII Remake Part 3, he stopped short of revealing if Chadley would be playable or not. He did, however, noted that he would “continue to play an important role” in the final remake chapter.
We understand that many fans are fond of Chadley. However, whether [he’d] become a playable character is something we’re unable to comment on at this time. That said, Chadley will continue to play an important role even in the final installment of the trilogy. His strong curiosity and tendency to talk a bit too much – inherent traits that he’s aware of and somewhat self-conscious about – will be further explored in the third game, too. It’d make me happy if players could warmly follow how Chadley becomes involved in the story and what role he takes in supporting it.
For those who might not know much about the Final Fantasy VII Remake titles, Chadley offered numerous side activities for players to follow. For example, in FFVII Remake, he hosted the Battle Intel Reports, where players would travel around Midgar accessing and defeating various creatures in exchange for rare items. In FFVII Rebirth, Chadley offers VR simulations of powerful beasts that can be summoned in combat providing you emerge victorious in the VR battles, and also has Cloud and chums reactivating communications towers, which reveal more of the map.
Previously, Hamaguchi stated that he had completed 40 full playthroughs of FFVII Remake Part 3, which has naturally fuelled hope that we’re not too far from a full reveal. Speaking with German publication Ntower, the game director stated that Cid and Vincent, who will become playable in the game for the first time, have been “designed with incredibly appealing combat capabilities,” and is eager for players to try them out.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 has yet to attract a release date but hopefully a reveal will come soon – fingers crossed for a Summer Game Fest reveal!
