Battlefield Movie Bidding War Kicks Off With 5 Studios Including Amazon MGM Studios And Sony

Amazon MGM Studios, Netflix, Sony, Universal, and Warner Bros. Discovery have submitted bids for the planned Battlefield movie, which is set to be helmed by Christopher McQuarrie and Michael B. Jordan.
As previously reported, McQuarrie is attached as director, writer, and producer on the Battlefield movie, with Jordan, who recently won an Oscar for his performance in Sinners set to produce and possibly star in the adaptation of EA’s military shooter franchise. McQuarrie recently helmed Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning and Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning, while Jordan has been busy appearing in a number of major projects over the past few years, including Creed III and A Journal For Jordan.
The Battlefield movie will also include producers Jesse Stern (EA), Carter Swan (Emerald Neon), and Roy Lee and Miri Yoon (Vertigo), and is being prioritised as a theatrical project.
Battlefield 6 is the most recent entry in EA’s franchise, and launched for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in October 2025. You can read our full review here.
