Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Director Confirms He Has ‘Completed Over 40 Full Playthroughs’ Of The Game

The director on Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 has revealed that he has already completed the upcoming RPG sequel over 40 times, fuelling hope that we’re not too far off from a proper reveal.

Speaking with Nintendo Life, Hamaguchi-san said that the development team are “very excited” about how the including part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy is progressing. He also spoke a little about the gap between Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which was about four years.

We’re very excited about how the game is currently progressing. I have already completed over 40 full playthroughs! I can’t wait for as many people as possible to experience the game for themselves, and myself and the team are working hard to ensure we can create an unforgettable gameplay experience.

With large-scale titles like this one, it’s common for a long gap to exist between the first and second instalments. However, because they were ports, we decided we could deliver them without leaving much of a gap. We want to capitalise on this cadence and moment to tie the experiences together without any gaps, from Remake to Rebirth to finally the third instalment that lies beyond them.

Speaking earlier this week with Comic Book, Hamaguchi revealed that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3’s development is “proceeding on time and on schedule,” and urged fans to wait a bit longer while acknowledging how eager folk are to see the game in action. Earlier in the year, Hamaguchi told Bloomberg that he hopes the release of the game isn’t “going to be too far in the future,” although we’re still without a concrete release date.

Unlike the first two entries in the FFVII Remake project, the final chapter is being developed as a multiformat project; however, Hamaguchi has assured fans the overall quality of the game won’t be compromised.
