‘We’re Just Getting Started’ – Xbox Employee Hypes Up ‘Momentum’ Of 2026 So Far

What a crazy few months we’ve had in the world of Xbox, eh? It’s normally pretty quiet around this time of the year, but Asha Sharma has taken the role of Xbox boss, we’ve had multiple showcases, the next Xbox console has been announced, the Xbox Games Showcase has been announced, and Xbox FanFest is making a grand comeback!
There’s more we could mention (such as how great of a start it’s been for Xbox Game Pass), but you get the point – there’s definitely some “momentum” building over at Xbox HQ right now, as mentioned by the brand’s Sr. Social Media Manager known as “Stein” over on Twitter.
Here’s what they had to say about Xbox’s start to 2026 earlier today:
There’s no doubt that the feeling has shifted around Xbox over the past few weeks. It’s early days, but fans seem to be reacting positively to what Asha Sharma is both saying and putting into practice, and there’s excitement around Project Helix, Xbox Game Pass, new console features, the upcoming Xbox Showcase and major first-party launches.
At the same time, there’s also a sense of uncertainty — a feeling that nobody truly knows what the future holds for Xbox, especially with a new boss in the hotseat — and that’s where the idea of “momentum” really comes into play.
If this promising start can extend to the rest of the year and into 2027, the vibe around Xbox will be a positive one heading towards the Project Helix launch, and we’ll ultimately be in for some exciting years ahead as Xbox fans. There’s obviously lots of work to be done along the way, but we’re encouraged by what we’ve seen in 2026 so far.
But what about you? How do you feel about Xbox’s start to 2026? Let us know down in the comments section below
