Backstage News On WWE Possibly Having Big Plans For Hip-Hop Star Lil Yachty Beyond Appearance On 4/3 SmackDown

Lil Yachty might be heading to WWE sooner than expected.

As noted, Trick Williams reportedly reached out to Lil Yachty, inviting him to appear on this week’s SmackDown. Sources indicate that the hip-hop star has been in discussions with WWE for a while, and an appearance could be on the horizon.

“I want to personally invite my boy, I’m talking about my day one a long time back, my HBCU brother, Lil Yachty,” Williams stated in a social media video released this past Saturday. “I need for you to pull up to SmackDown this week. We are in St. Louis. I need for you to pull up. Let’s spice things up. Talk to these folk, man, let them know what’s going on around here. The game’s done. Grown folk talking. Pull up on me, dawg. Let’s talk about it.”

There’s also speculation that this could pave the way for a WrestleMania appearance, with potential for a longer-term relationship between the rapper and the company.

Williams teased this as well during a subsequent appearance on HOT 97’s Mornings with Mero.

“We got something cooking,” Williams stated when talking about his plans for his match against WWE United States Champion Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42 during the interview, which was released this past Monday. “The stars is coming out. That’s all I’m gonna say.”

This move would continue WWE’s recent trend of involving mainstream music stars in major storylines, adding another high-profile celebrity to the mix.

As noted, IShowSpeed is another celebrity expected to be heavily involved at WrestleMania 42, with rumors of himself being in a six-man tag-team match on “The Grandest Stage of Them All” that should come together on WWE television soon.

WrestleMania 42 is scheduled to take place on April 18 and April 19 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV.
