Xbox Games Showcase 2026 Set For June 7 Followed By Gears Of War: E-Day Direct

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 will kick off on June 7, 2026 at 10.00am PST/1.00pm EST/6.00pm BST, and will be followed by a deep dive into The Coalition’s highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day.

The format holder revealed that the showcase will offer the first gameplay and news on a number of upcoming titles “from our first-party studios across the Xbox family” as well as third-party partners, spanning everything from “the biggest franchises to soon-to-be indie darlings.”

Immediately following Showcase, we’ll go even deeper on one of the games coming later this year, directly from the team behind the Gears franchise, The Coalition Studio. Gears of War: E-Day Direct will take players into the start of Emergence Day, offering new details, gameplay and insights about the hugely anticipated origin story to the Gears of War saga.

The event is taking place just a couple of days after Summer Game Fest, which is kicking off on Friday, June 5 and will no doubt play host to a boatload of reveals and updates of its own. While Microsoft has recently had a major shakeup in leadership with the departure of Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond, the hardware maker is still planning multiformat releases for the likes of Fable and Halo: Campaign Evolved (plus Forza Horizon 6 in May, ahead of the showcase) so PS5 fans will still want to tune in and see what’s in store.

With Gears of War Reloaded coming to PS5 last year, there’s every reason to believe that Gears of War: E-Day will follow in its footsteps.
