Sony Continues To Crack Down On PS Store Shovelware By Delisting Yet More Games

Remember earlier this year when Sony brought the axe down on over 1,000 shovelware games on the PlayStation Store? Well, the format holder is stopping there, as itβs now removed hundreds of other titles that fall under the shovelware banner.
The majority of the games delisted hail from Nostra Games, a Cyprus-based development team who had lobbed nearly 700 games on Sonyβs store, all of which have now been given the boot. CGI Lab has also seen its catalog delisted from the PS Store, although the didnβt have anywhere near as many titles Nostra Games.
Speaking on discord, a Nostra Games spokesperson issued a statement revealing they were in the dark as to why Sony had given their games the boot
Unfortunately, PS Store has removed our games, and weβre unable to provide an exact reason because it wasnβt shared with us either. For now, we are planning to continue releasing on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and Steam. This was just as unexpected for us as it was for you, as we had planned to continue releasing games in the coming years, and youβve already seen some of them, but unfortunately, this is how things turned out. Thank you for your questions, but unfortunately, we are in the dark as well.
What are shovelware games, you might ask? Well, they are typically classified by being low-effort rips-offs, that often use generative AI and usually give you a ridiculously easy Platinum Trophy. Basically, the sort of rubbish you donβt want cluttering up the PS Store.
