The Forge map

One thing about The Forge map is that it’s vast and is going to get bigger in updates to come. You may need some assistance figuring out where to go and what you can find in each region, so we’re here to give you a virtual tour, listing every major place in every region, and explaining why you might want to go there.

Currently, there are two major regions in The Forge, with a third to come very soon. Stonewake’s Cross is where you begin your adventure, and it offers all kinds of shops and facilities. Eventually, you’ll reach the Forgotten Kingdom, where you can access new shops and turn up the heat by fighting elite enemies.

Here’s everything you need to know about The Forge’s map:

The Forge Stonewake’s Cross

Probably the most familiar location in The Forge, Stonewake’s Cross is the starting island, and its primary purpose is to help kickstart your journey, prepping you for adventure in the kingdoms beyond. It’s filled with shops, forge and upgrade stations, and even a place to reroll. If you’re unsure what equipment you might need to pick up, try checking in with a The Forge tier list.

  • The Forge: go here to forge new weapons and armor using ores you’ve mined. An essential visit, as you can’t progress without it.
  • Enhancing Area: an upgrade station for weapons and armors. You also need to visit this often.
  • Runemaker Area: a place to add runes to equipment, which can give you passive effects like burn, healing, poison, lifesteal, and more. This is useful for fine-tuning your playstyle
  • The Cave: the main place to mine ores in Stonewake. You can get to the Fallen Angel’s Cave and the Secret Cave from here.
  • Bard Area: a place where you can talk to bard NPCs to get a lantern, which will light your way through the mines. This is essential when you’re exploring deep in the mines.
  • Maria’s Potion Shop: sells potions to help you mine and forge, including stamina and healing potions. These are useful when you go on a long mining trip and when facing tough enemies.
  • Miner Fred’s Shop: sells pickaxes for better mining, including ones with more rune slots. A good pickaxe will help you farm ores quickly and efficiently.
  • Marbles’s Shop: a place to sell your equipment for gold – particularly useful if you’ve been experimenting in the forge, and it hasn’t worked out too well.
  • Greedy Cey’s Shop: a place to sell ores, runes, and essences when you don’t need them and/or your inventory is full.
  • Wizard’s Tower: you can reroll your race here, trying new builds and playstyles without having to start all over again.#
  • Secret Cave: an area specific to the Bard’s Guitar Quest. It contains the Undead NPC and is how you get the Unknown Key.
  • Fallen Angel’s Cave: a hidden cave, unlocked via the completion of the Bard’s Guitar Quest when he gives you the Unknown Key.

The Forge Forgotten Kingdom

The Forgotten Kingdom is the second area in the game. It used to be the largest kingdom in the land, but its castle has fallen into disrepair, and the island has been overrun by more dangerous enemies. Forgotten Kingdom has many of the same areas as Stonewake, with variation in the shops, plus additional caves and combat areas. It’s a little more difficult, so if you’re struggling, you’re probably going to want The Forge codes for freebies to help.

  • Ruined Cave: the inside of the Forgotten Kingdom’s castle, the cave is a crumbling mess with plenty of dangerous enemies to take down inside. Contains the Descent Beginnings, the Ashen Path, the Catacombs, the Sunken Cells, and the Volcanic Depths.
  • Captain Rowan’s Camp: Captain Rowan and other NPCs who reside here will give you quests to complete.
  • Wo Shop: Wo is a master swordsman who buys equipment from you.

  • Goblin Cave: a cavern filled with slimes, but also filled with crystals that you can get as rewards.
  • Goblin Village: a settlement of Goblins, who offer you the Goblin King quest, which requires you to bring him coins and rare gems.
  • Volcanic Depths: a high-level zone in the Ruined Cave, with elite enemies and high-tier ore veins. At the moment, this is the closest thing The Forge offers to endgame content.

Is there a new island coming to The Forge map?

Yes, the developer has announced on the Forge Discord server that a brand new area in The Forge will be coming on February 14, 2026. Region three will be ice-themed, and development started in late November of 2025. With the new region, new bosses will be available to fight, along with new NPCs and shops, and new terrain to cross in the form of a frozen river. We’re excited!

Where can I find Captain Rowan in The Forge?

Captain Rowan’s camp is found just outside the Ruined Cave. From the main village, head up the ramp as if you were going towards the cave, but just before you would enter, turn right and head down the path between the cliff and the cave. If you keep walking ahead, you’ll see Captain Rowan’s banner, so keep pushing through the trees to find his encampment.
