Rumour – State Of Play Is Returning In February 2026

Sony is set to host a new State Of Play broadcast in February, according to usually-reliable tipster NateTheHate on X.
The leaker didn’t give much to go on, simply replying to a user “There will be, yes” when asked if there would be a State of Play next month. Interestingly, he just so happened to be discussing a Red Dead Redemption 2 PS5/Xbox Series X/S port at the time, which he says is still on the cards.
State of Play has become Sony’s go-to event to announce the latest happenings in the world of PlayStation, with digital events having become commonplace in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic over five years ago. We’ve seen a lot of major games announced at past State of Plays, including Tekken 8 (September 2022), Marvel’s Wolverine re-revealed (September 2025), Resident Evil 4 Remake (June 2023) and others.
So, what can we expect from the new State of Play? Well, Saros isn’t too far off from release, so we could get something more from that project, and with Resident Evil Requiem just around the corner, it’s possible a new trailer could emerge. Other than that, it’s anyone’s guess!
Keep in mind that Sony has not announced a State of Play broadcast yet.
