Adam Jensen Voice Actor Says A New Deus Ex Game Is Not Coming In 2026

A new entry in the Deus Ex franchise is not coming this year, Elias Toufexis, the voice actor behind series protagonist Adam Jensen has revealed in a post on social media. Why, you might ask? Because the people in charge are “psychopaths,” he joked.

Speaking in a post detailing his upcoming projects for 2026, the voice actor revealed one of the project is Marathon, the extraction shooter from Bungie that’s due in March, while the other three are current under NDA. However, while many people were hoping one of these projects could be a new Deus Ex game, Toufexis confirmed, “no Deus Ex because people in charge are psychopaths.”

Eidos Montreal was working on a new Deus Ex game at some point before it was shelved, and Toufexis had previously revealed that this project would not have been a story based on his character. He also stated that Embracer Group ‘dropped the ball‘ when it shelved the project, which coincided with the loss of 97 jobs at Eidos Montreal.

Fast-forward to April last year, and it was reported that Eidos Montreal was interested in bringing back the Deus Ex franchise, with the studio having regular pitched new projects. However, according to Insider Gaming, Deus Ex was considered “too niche” by some potential partners, with another expressing concern the series would be too much of risk financially.

While a new Deus Ex game continues to remain uncertain at this point, fans do have the upcoming Deus Ex Remastered to look forward too. The game was originally set to arrive in February 2026 for PS5 but was delayed due to community feedback, although hopefully we’ll hear something on a new date soon.
