Fallout 3 Remaster Has Been Reported Yet Again As Being In Development

Fresh reports on a Fallout 3 Remaster have surfaced online following an interview with Todd Howard in GQ magazine, where the Bethesda Game Studios executive revealed they are working “some other things” outside of what has already been announced.

In response to these comments, VGC has stated that it understands one of those projects is indeed the long-rumoured Fallout 3 Remaster. While it didn’t go into any other details, it’s worth keeping in mind that a remaster of the 2008 RPG has been rumoured for a while now. For example, Leaker NateTheHate said earlier this year that the project is indeed real, although it’ll ‘be a while‘ before we actually see it.

Further evidence that a Fallout 3 Remaster is in the pipeline comes from its initial discovery in documents pertaining to Microsoft’s legal tussle with the FTC a few years back, where it was mentioned alongside The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. That game has obviously since seen the light of day, which paints a strong picture for Fallout 3 getting the same treatment.

Fallout 3 was originally released for PS3, PC, and Xbox 360 back in October 2008. The game takes place in the ruins of Washington, D.C., as well as the surrounding countryside in an area known as the Capital Wasteland. Set in 2277, the player steps in the role of a resident of Vault 101, and later venture out into the wasteland in search of their father after the mysteriously disappears. Bethesda supported the game with five post-launch expansions and also re-released Fallout 3 as a Game of the Year Edition.
