Nice Day For Fishing Brings Its ‘Epic’ RPG Pixel Adventure To Xbox Today

In the mood for an indie adventure game with a “full-blown RPG-style” battle system? That’s what we’re getting with Nice Day for Fishing, which has just launched on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S today at a pretty cheap price.

This game is apparently based around the “Epic NPC Man” universe created by the Viva La Dirt League comedy group on YouTube – we’d admittedly never heard of them, but they have over seven million followers on the platform!

In Nice Day for Fishing, you’ll find yourself exploring the lands and sea of Azerim as you complete quests, take on epic fishing battles including deep-sea bosses, upgrade your skills and equipment, and much more.

Here’s a bit about the combat specifically:

“Once a fish bites, combat begins! Players attack with a button press, dealing damage and pulling the fish closer to the surface. But beware — these aren’t your average fish. They’ll fight back, reverse the line, and force you into a defensive stance. You’ll need to time your attacks, blocks, and spell casts while managing items and cooldowns — because even the fish have tricks up their fins. Our goal was to make every battle feel like an epic encounter, not just a quick catch. You’ll see health bars, stamina meters, damage numbers, buffs, debuffs, and magic spells — everything you’d expect in a fantasy RPG.”

Looking at the Steam page for this game, it currently has a “Very Positive” rating based on almost 2,000 user reviews. The Xbox release is today as mentioned, and it’s only £14.99 / $14.99 to grab at launch.

That price includes a 25% discount, so it might be worth picking up sooner rather than later if you’re interested.
