Silent Hill 2 Remake VA Addresses Born From A Wish Rumours: ‘We’ve Not Recored Anything’
Voice actor Salóme Rannveig Gunnarsdóttir has touched base on the rumoured Born From A Wish DLC for Silent Hill 2 Remake during a recent livestream, stating she hasn’t been contacted about it by Bloober Team and as such no dialogue has been recorded for the DLC.
I’m not going to announce any Born From A Wish thing. I’ve been waiting for Konami to say something, I even asked Bloober if they were going to say something, but we’ve not recorded anything from Born From A Wish. I’m so sorry. I don’t know anything else, I just know that I haven’t recorded any material for it.
The obvious assumption is that Gunnarsdóttir is under NDA and therefore can’t say anything about the project, which hasn’t been announced yet. However, it’s worth remembering that the character she plays in SH2 Remake, Maria, was the main focus in Born From A Wish back in 2001, so if she hasn’t actually recorded anything yet then the DLC is still a long way off at this point.
Horror leaker Dusk Golem has claimed a few time that the DLC is on the way, and recently said it should be announced ‘sooner or later.’ For now, we’ll just have to see what happens.
Born From A Wish was originally included in Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams (or Inner Fears in Europe) for Xbox in December 2001, just three months after the game released on PS2. The side story was also ported to Sony’s console with Silent Hill 2: Director’s Cut the following year, and follows Maria’s exploits in the foggy town prior to her meeting with James Sunderland.
Silent Hill 2 Remake was released for PS5 and PC in October 2024. You can read our full review here.
